A child who is under 18 years and has been in the UK for 7 years whether legally or unlawfully can apply for leave to remain in the UK under the Private life route. This can be referred too under 276ADE (iv) of the Immigration Rules. 

 

Parents and siblings who are under 18 will also be able apply to apply on the basis of the child who has completed 7 years in the UK.

 

If visa is granted under the private life route, then each applicant will obtain 2.5 years visa and then after this time period each applicant can renew for another 2.5 years. Once you have  10 years legal stay has been completed in the UK then each applicant will be eligible to apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
