SKILLED WORK VISA

The Skilled Work Visa is a work visa which allows you to work in the UK for a company who has approved sponsorship from the Home office. You can be granted up to 5 years on the skilled work visa (subject to length of employment given by employer).  After 5 years of qualifying period, you will  be eligible to apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK.

If you wish to change employers, you will need to apply for a new skilled work visa.

 

Requirements for skilled work visas.

You must meet the following requirements and provide evidence that:

  • You have a job offer from a UK employer.

  • Your employer must have a sponsor license issued by the Home office

  • You have been issued with Certificate of Sponsor from your employer.

  • The job must be on the short occupation list.

  • You must meet the English language requirement to at least level B1.

  • You must meet the financial requirement of £26,200 (This will increase on to £38,700 per annum on 04th April. This will not apply to healthcare workers or those who work in education on national pay).

You must show proof of funds in account of £1270 to show you can maintain yourself.
